Acorn Spencer offers a full survey, specification, scheduling and sales service for passive fire protection for new, existing, listed and re-furb projects.

With over 20 years experience in the Intumescent, Architectural Ironmongery Industry and with a fully qualified Architectural Ironmonger on board we have access to a wealth of experience in providing a high level of professionalism in specifications, recommendations and quotations.

The Envirograf range of over 130 Intumescent products will offer a solution to virtually any situation using any of the standard products. If a standard item is not suitable for an application then bespoke items can be made to order. Literature, Test Evidence and COSH details are available on request for the product specified. Upgrading, Refurbishments and Conversions

The upgrading products for listed buildings include a very successful range of products, providing various fire ratings to a variety of materials including doors, timber cladding, plasterboard and lathe and plaster. Acorn Spencer Ltd can provide a survey for listed building projects to ascertain the correct system for the requirements of the project. A full survey report and product recommendation will be provided. Due to the complexities and amount of work involved in the door upgrade surveys there is usually a charge for this.

Door upgrading is a large part of the passive fire business. If an existing house has a loft conversion then the doors, and sometimes the walls and ceilings along the escape route, need to be upgraded for fire regulations. It is not necessary to replace your existing doors for fire door blanks. 99.99% of the time the existing doors can be upgraded. A survey can be carried out to ensure the existing doors can be upgraded, then the suitable materials will be specified, scheduled and priced. There are various options to upgrade the doors – varnish, paint, membrane and veneers. Also Hinges, Intumescent Fire & Smoke Seals and other ironmongery can be included in the specification.
